Men may want to be more careful where they leave their mobiles, after a new survey showed that the majority of women look through their partner's phones without them knowing.

Research by the rightmobilephone.co.uk has shown that 68 per cent of ladies have looked through their other half's phones because they were suspicious and many of these fears were well founded, as the study also showed that more than half of women found 'evidence'.

This included texts from the opposite sex with kisses on, passwords for the inbox and deleted items and the website's founder, Neil McHugh, said mobiles can hold "a lot of secrets".

"It appears lots of people have trust issues these days and we were surprised by just how many snoop for evidence of cheating on their partner's mobile," he said.

Meanwhile, a recent survey by Retrevo found that a third of iPhone users have used the device to text or email a break-up message to their other half.
