WHO IS SHE?:
How's this for a stretch? This sexy blonde actress plays a sexy blonde actress in the new comedy Bottoms Up alongside Paris Hilton, Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith. And Gareth nails the part of the sexy blonde actress!
WHAT HAS SHE DONE?:
When she's not hanging out with heiresses, Gareth has had roles on The O.C. and Cold Case and she's performed as a dancer at the Pro Bowl. She's paid her dues on the short-film circuit with lead roles in Secrets, Unsheltered Love and Grains of Silver, and she plays a manipulative hottie in an upcoming slasher comedy, Blood & Guts.
WHY DO WE CARE?:
Blonde hair, green eyes, a dancer's bod -- and she likes sports. What's not to like about Lindsay? And -- as she explains -- she's not afraid to shed some clothes to get a part.
Playboy.com: You grew up in Northern California. How did you end up heading down south to evil Los Angeles?
Lindsay Gareth: I was four years old and I told my dad I'm going to be an actress. Literally, ever since then, that's what my life has been geared to. I went to USC, graduated in four years, and a year later was doing my first movie.
Playboy.com: Wait, are you a Trojans fan?
Gareth: Yep.
Playboy.com: This interview's over. We're still depressed from last year's Notre Dame loss.
Gareth: I just saw the other day that we're ranked No. 6.
Playboy.com: Yes, and look who's No. 2. It might be Notre Dame.... Anyway, you danced at the Pro Bowl halftime show. Are you an all-around sports fan?
Gareth: I'm a huge sports fan. Being from Northern California, of course, I'm a longtime San Francisco 49er fan. My second team would be the Philadelphia Eagles. And I'm definitely a Yankees fan.
Playboy.com: Your character shows up at a party in Bottoms Up where there are lots of naked girls running around. Is that a typical Hollywood party?
Gareth: Typical...yeah. [Laughs] Does everybody do it? No. But could you find it? Probably a lot easier than one would expect.
Playboy.com: We know what it's like to be an aspiring guy actor in L.A., more or less, from Swingers. But what's the female actor version of trying to get your big break in Hollywood?
Gareth: There are a lot of beautiful blonde aspiring actresses here, so you have to find a way to get your talent out. I've heard it all the time, "There's a ton of blondes out here who look just like you," so you have to find what separates you.
Playboy.com: What if you grew a beard? You could look like Ryan Gosling in The Notebook.
Gareth: [Laughs] That'd be fun. But I'm not really a fan of hair.
Playboy.com: What was it like working with Paris Hilton?
Gareth: It was fun. We had a few days of shooting together, and she was sweet.
Playboy.com: What about Jason Mewes?
Gareth: He's too much. I love that guy. You never know what's gonna come out of that kid's mouth.
Playboy.com: In the movie, your character Dorothy records a sex tape that gets leaked to the press, and she rags on someone for having whisky dick. Is that a typical expression for you?
Gareth: Well, no one I know really had that problem, but I guess that's come out of my mouth once or twice....
Playboy.com: Any scandalous Lindsay Gareth videos out there in cyberspace?
Gareth: Not that I know of. I've never been recorded. Sorry.
Playboy.com: We forgive you. Would you ever do a nude scene?
Gareth: Yeah. I'm very comfortable with my body. I find the female body beautiful. If it's done tastefully, and it's for the good of the project, and it's not gratuitous, then yeah, I'm all for it, if done correctly.
Playboy.com: What's your role in the upcoming movie Blood & Guts?
Gareth: Well, it's a horror movie, but it's not scary. It's a throwback '80s film and it's hysterical. It has all the clichés you would expect. I play Tiffany. She is the one who uses her sexuality to get what she wants.
Playboy.com: We like it already. So, what's your worst dating horror story?
Gareth: I have a really hard time saying no, and this one guy asked me out, and I really didn't want to go, but I agreed. So we went to dinner, and I was grinning and bearing the whole thing. I didn't really want to be there.
Playboy.com: That's it. That's the whole horror story? No stories of psychos or anything?
Gareth: I've been pretty lucky. I try to stay away from psychos.
Playboy.com: What's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you in your acting career?
Gareth: It was one of my first auditions, and the character was a prostitute. She's forced to strip down in the script. So it was a question of do I strip down -- not totally naked, but I wore a bathing suit. So I decided to go for it. I went big in the audition, and it was a little too much for the audition. My manager called me, and I knew I had gone too far. I know now to never make that mistake. Oh, well. Go big or go home!
