Getting behind the wheel of a Porsche or any other fast car boosts a Playboy's testosterone levels, new research has found.

According to a study published in the journal Organisational Behaviour and Human Decision Processes, driving a powerful vehicle can be beneficial to a man's health by helping them produce more of the hormone.

Driving a clapped-out old banger, meanwhile, had the opposite affect, sending levels down, researchers from Concordia University in Montreal found.

They gave 39 young men the chance to drive a Porsche 0911 Carrera Cabriolet and Toyota Camry and concluded that the faster car drove up testosterone levels.

"Endowing the men with a car that few individuals could afford prompted their testosterone levels to rise significantly," the team said in its report.

Playboys suffering from erectile dysfunction and lethargy could have a testosterone deficiency and ought to seek medical advice as soon as possible, Dr Christian Jessen recently warned.
