She is one of the most famous models in Britain but Erin O'Connor's striking features were not welcomed by many in the industry when she first started out.

In an interview with Radio Times, the 31 year old revealed that she was regularly told to have cosmetic surgery to make her looks more easily digestible to those in the industry.

The 6ft 1in beauty has been lauded for her distinctive physiognomy but many in the business nudged her towards having work done on her breasts and face.

"In the early days of my modelling career, I think the industry was uncomfortable with how strikingly different I was. For example, I was told to have a nose job and get my breast done. But I suddenly got very stubborn and thought, 'Well, no. This is me'," she told the magazine.

Natalie Portman recently told V Magazine that she would consider having cosmetic surgery if she started to lose her looks.
